Well Jay sold 'em to me ...would have been rude to SN me later !

TBH the difference between the bottle green early war stuff and black is pretty unnoticable .

That's fine, DM - roll your sleeves up and it's gone! :good:

Porta - 'tis a pleasure to have you on board - as mentioned, all you need are: Feldgrau / white piped s/boards, Heer chest eagle, Heer generic Litzen (collar tabs) - I would recommend Pikestaff2 for all that stuff. Give your helmet a spray of RAL6006 with sand mixed in if you want, and you're done. For SS, simply wear a smock and a helmet cover. :good:

edit: D'oh! :slap: Forgot the belt buckle.

On the subject of collar litzen, I'm going for the low / no rank Heer infantryman, does that mean I should still wear litzen. From what I've managed to find out, they all represent some kind of rank. Or am I massively wrong again :slap:

Litzen = collar tabs. Everyone had them. You're not getting confused with Tresse - silver binding around collars??

My current heer effort is a Panzergrenadier M1940 wrap & trousers (field grey "Special uniform" based on PanzerGrenadier Regt 60) with late war litzen and (currently) unterfeldwebel shoulder boards. I may get a 43 pattern tunic in the future though. I also have a marsh pattern camo smock which I believe PG's wore. Otherwise standard heer webbing.

Weaponwise, add me to the K98 list (Tanaka) . But also use an MP40, with a "captured" Colt 1911 for backup  (as I had one anyway) until I get hold of something more "germanic".

Finally, got kit together and MP40 arrived today, so sign me up as a paid up member of the Heer Infantry.
Kit is Jaeger and Gebirgsjaeger, none of these newthangled tank things for me, they'll never catch on.
Right, off to work out how this MP40 thing works.

Glad you've got it all together Sean. However, Jäger and Gebirgsjäger are different from Infanterie! :)

Heh, don't worry, a few of us have Jäger impressions. It's also easy to rebadge as Infanterie if you want to.

The Jager roster is about 7 topics down and it looks like you're already on the list Sean. :good:

Von Straffan I think this roster is just for generic infantry rather than any Heer. Your Pzgrenadier impression sounds a little too specific and not easily altered to fit the bill. Maybe we need another list for Panzer troops? :slap: :D

Collar litzen sorted and sewn on, they set the jacket off a treat :)
Also got some belt hooks and rigged them up with 1 1/2 inch tape. I'll be trying it out this weekend and probably get some pics up. Also picked up a pocket watch from the local car boot along with a chain for £20. It fits the pocket a treat and I was amazed to find a little hoop sewn into the bottom of the waistband to take the little bar on the watch chain. Pukka detailing from Epic Militaria :good:

:? All is not lost, the smock fits more with the infantry theme - the Field grey '40 tunic is a bit warm to wear for airsoft truth be told, but it can be used for other roles such as gun crew etc too (now where did I put that howitzer?!) I'll probably get a more generic infantry tunic in due course though. Not sure theres enough panzergrenadiers to make a new list worthwhile? (Someone tell me I'm wrong . . . . . )

Ok, cool. :good: I don't know how many PZgrenadiers we have either but the advantage of the generic infantry kit is that it only takes a change of shoulderboards to switch to Panzergrenadier- if you use generic litzen. However I do also have a tunic badged up as a grenadier focused on the 21st panzer but can be used for others.

Groovy - seems a lot of folk have more than one uniform to fit into different roles, maybe in time I'll be in the same boat. Priority for me at the moment is to get an infantry helmet before looking for another tunic (unless one jumps out in front of me !)
